We waited. We waited and we ate Doritos. We waited, ate Doritos, and binged Netflix. We also tried yoga, growing plants, Zoomed great Aunt Mertle’s 90th birthday party, attempted baking sourdough bread (“it’s easy!” they said…”it’ll be fun!” they said…), and tye-died about 50 random t-shirts, but nothing, NOTHING could replace you, 42nd street. And now that all the powdered cheese has been licked, all the Netflix has been binged, and sourdough starters will never again be attempted in this house – YOU’RE BACK!

On Tuesday, May 11, 2021, directors of Broadway’s three biggest players: The Lion King, Wicked, and Hamilton, announced joining forces for Broadway’s return to the stage, in a combined opening night scheduled for September 14, 2021. Marking more than a year and a half closure since March 12, 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Broadway will welcome audience members with full capacity seating in September! While COVID precautions like masks may still be required in most theaters, backstage, several directors are requiring all cast and crew be fully vaccinated to eliminate any health concerns. The Lion King, Wicked, and Hamilton aren’t the only shows that have announced their return to 42nd Street – Aladdin, Mrs. Doubtfire, and The Music Man have all joined the Fall season roll out as well!
