Out of creative date night ideas? Your romance game needing a refresh? Leave it to Disney to offer a 101 course in Romantic Studies featuring a few of their most swoon-worthy couples. Here are a few tips and tricks to help you show your new beau or your lifelong queen, a night they won’t soon forget!

1. Plan the evening.

Dinner by the bay, live theatre and an evening stroll through a sculpture garden under the stars. How did Meg manage to impress a demi-god? She took him for a night on the town! Not a live theatre fan? Try a symphony or the jazz club downtown! Too cold for a stroll? Take him to the city’s most popular sites! Perfect for a first date or a 15th anniversary, you can tailor this date for a new beau or your 15-year-strong hunk.

2. Take in a view.

A gondola ride through the city, name carving in a lamp post and watching the sun set – an evening any woman would remember. Too bad Eve was asleep for all of it. Valleys, mountains, oceans, rivers, city skylines – whatever view your area has to offer, take it in! A little tip: if you’ve already taken them to your area’s best vantage point, try it at golden hour! The hour surrounding sunrise and sunset always brings new life to an old view!

3. Ask them to dance!

An evening on under the stars, live music, a waltz on and under the water – you don’t have to be the best dancer in the room, just make her feel like she is! We would’ve swooned too Tiana girl, no judgement here!

4. The kit and kaboodle.

A waltz, warm candlelight, gowns, glass slippers, a moonlight stroll through the palace garden – sometimes the night just calls for all the stops! It could be an extravagant dinner, tickets to the latest Broadway show, going to the top of the Space Needle or all three! Go ahead, throw in the whole kit and kaboodle! A little kit and kaboole never hurt anybody.

5. Location, location, location!

Flying above Agrabah, the Pyramids, the Valley of Temples and China in a single night? – Okay so maybe seeing a dozen different countries in the course of a few hours isn’t quite doable for you this weekend, but where can you take them? Know of a quiet marina boat dock to take your meal? Is there a residential street with an impressive holiday light display begging for a hot chocolate stroll? When you ask if she wants to see the sights, she’ll say yes. Every time.

6. Get to know them!

A horse drawn carriage, dancing in the town square and a romantic boat ride – There are so many opportunities to get to know them! Sometimes just asking meaningful questions and listening can be the most romantic part of an evening. But really Eric..all you had to do was lean in just a little bit more. Could’ve avoided the hundred-foot crazy octopus aunt.

7. Teach them something new.

Breakfast overlooking the palace grounds, feeding the birds, a playful snowball fight in the garden, an evening reading by the fire – It doesn’t have to be Literature 101, it could be something as simple as how to feed the birds. Learning is one of the ways we bond with others, so get creative! What could you teach them, or have them to you? And is there a better way to spend a winter’s day than reading with your flame by the fire?

8. Surprise them!

A kingdom square dance, fresh bakery sweets and a boat ride through thousands of glowing lanterns – Surprising your favorite person with a day filled with things they’ve always wanted to do, will certainly go down as one of their best dates of all time! So go for it! Just be sure to save time for cake.

9. Keep it simple.

A lazy stroll through sleepy waterfalls, chasing each other through a meadow – don’t overthink it. Sometimes the best date is the simplest one. At the end of the day, it’s just about sharing time together.
